In the quiet small town of Lubbock, nestled in the American South, Lisa and Aili grew up as best friends along dusty country roads. They spent their childhood running by the old barn, swinging under the warm sun, and picking wildflowers behind fences—a time without smartphones or noise, just sunshine, fields, and laughter.

At the age of ten, using the beading skills her grandmother taught her, Lisa hand-crafted two necklaces. She gifted one to Aili as a birthday present, carrying a promise: “No matter where life takes us, never forget each other.”

That same year, Lisa moved to Hong Kong due to family reasons. Over the next twenty years, life took them on different paths, but the memory of that southern sunshine never faded.
